Front Desk Lead/Patient Support Representative
Job Summary:
The Front Desk Lead/Patient Support Representative will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front office responsibilities while assisting with clinical tasks in the back office. This hybrid role ensures efficient patient care, from welcoming patients to supporting medical staff during exams and procedures. The ideal candidate is a compassionate professional with excellent customer service and administrative skills, who can also handle medical duties in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Patient Support Responsibilities:
Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
Manage patient check-ins/check-outs, scheduling appointments.
Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and inquiries, providing information and resolving concerns.
Maintain patient records by accurately inputting data into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Assist patients with billing questions, payments, and insurance claims.
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are available.
Take and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature).
Assist physicians and nurses during exams and procedures, providing direct patient care when needed.
Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as specimen collection and preparation for lab testing.
Administer injections, perform wound care, and carry out other basic medical procedures.
Maintain medical supply inventory and restock rooms as necessary.
Educate patients on medication instructions, post-visit care, and follow-up appointments.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); Associate's degree or higher in a medical-related field preferred.
Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic office software.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
